Burglary Patrol Update - Broxtowe South Cluster

Alert message sent 07/06/2018 13:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Good Afternoon Residents,

In response to the recent increase in burglaries additional patrols have been carried out by the Neighbourhood Policing Team including through the early hours of the morning.
Insecurities still account for around 35% of burglaries and we often advise through this site about things you can do to improve your security.
Sadly, from the patrols we've been carrying out, we have still witnessed the following:
A garage door left completely open showing all it's contents
A van with drivers window completely wound down
Numerous pushbikes simply left unlocked in gardens and on driveways
Numerous windows left open in clearly unoccupied rooms, presumably whilst householders are asleep elsewhere in the property - it takes literally seconds to gain entry through even the smallest windows.

Please consider your security and that of your neighbours. A glance around before going to bed that vehicles are secured, check gates are shut/locked, garden tools, bikes and other property locked away or at least put out of sight/use, doors and windows shut/locked.

With best wishes

Broxtowe South Neighbourhood Policing Team
