Park Area Crime Update

Alert message sent 26/10/2017 12:06:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Dear Park area Alert Member,

Excellent work by Response, Safer Neighbourhood Team and CID officers during the last six months as well as crime prevention measures put in place by The Park community, has helped keep burglary of people's homes as a relatively infrequent event in the area.

Since April, four homes have been entered across the estate and a male was identified, arrested, charged and remanded in custody after an incident in September following calls from Park residents about a male acting suspiciously.

Property has also been stolen from sheds and garages, however, so please continue to be vigilant and ensure all buildings are securely locked.

Thefts from cars have taken place on a considerable number of streets across the estate and these remind us to ensure nothing is left on display in parked cars and that all doors and boot are locked. Thirty incidents have taken place over this six month period which is an increase of five compared to the same period last year.

The number of reported incidents of antisocial behaviour in the area has fallen considerably. 51 incidents were reported in the same six month period, a reduction of 23 compared to last year - a 31% reduction.

I continue to work as Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for The Park and other areas. Sgt Andrew Hallsworth works with me covering The Park and wider area, together with Pc Chris Truelove and PCSO Dan Lane. Community Protection Team Leader is Des Storey and Community Protection Officer Bilal Khalil.

The Notts Police website has a wide range of advice on preventing crimes and also has contact details for local officers.

With best regards,

Robert Wilson

Inspector, Nottinghamshire Police.
