The Police have been informed that a cat on Nimbus Way Watnall has been shot by a pellet gun between 13th and 15th of September 2017.

THE PELLET TRAVELLED IN THE CATS BODY CAUSING INTERNAL INJURY

THE VET HAS CONFIRMED FROM XRAYS THAT A .22 PELLET IS LODGED IN MUSCLE TISSUE. THE PELLET PENERTRATED THE FEMUR AND BROKEN PART OF THE BONE.

The cat is called VIC who is eleven years old and as I am sure you can imagine this has been very distressing for the owners as he is a much loved pet.

VIC is now recovering at the vet’s surgery and the on-going treatment will cost the owners £3000 pounds.

The RSPCA will also be informed.

The penalties if caught deliberately using an airgun to injure an animal can be up to six months in prison and/or a £20,000 fine if found guilty under the Animal Welfare Act!
